Losing weight before the summer holidays in Willerby. Going away lighter, without dieting.
There are only a few weeks before you go. At the Willerby club, near Hull, we take stock with you and aim for what is realistic by then, so you can go away lighter and enjoy it, without dieting.

Support, not a diet, before you go
A few weeks are enough to change habits, not to change your body.
A few weeks is short but not useless. We begin with an assessment, which gives your current measurements, your strengths and the 2 or 3 adjustments that will make the most difference to your meals.
We then set an honest goal, with no promise of miracles. Lasting weight loss takes time, and a last-minute diet mostly costs you energy, before coming back as the yo-yo effect. Simple habits, kept up until you go, are better.
You come back regularly to measure what changes and correct what does not work. This regular check is what makes a goal stick.
Setting off a few weeks ahead
Before, during and after the trip, 3 simple pointers. During the holidays, no panic. Eating out, trying local food and moving less are part of the trip.

Your questions before the holidays
How long before the holidays should I start?
As early as possible. Even a few weeks before you go, we aim for a realistic goal and start straight away.
Can I lose weight in summer?
Yes, at your own pace, with regular meals. We give you pointers for pub gardens, barbecues and holiday meals.
What should I do on holiday so I do not put it all back on?
Keep regular meals, move every day and do not make up for a treat by skipping a meal.
Does a last-minute diet work?
It tires you out and the weight often comes back afterwards. We prefer support that lasts.

Our advice on the topic
A weight plateau is often water, muscle or creeping portions rather than failure. Read the signs first, then make 1 calm change for 3 weeks before judging.
You can eat out and still lose weight by choosing the main first, watching sauces and salt, pacing drinks and returning to your routine the next morning.
